It is common knowledge that exercise and physical activity are an important part of our health and well-being. Staying physically active and maintaining movement throughout our days can benefit our bodies and our minds in so many ways. Not only does exercise help us lose weight, gain muscle and benefit our cardiovascular health, it also helps aid in our mental health.
Now let’s take this a step further…
Getting daily exercise outside is even better for our mental health. Daily outdoor exercise acts as a natural anti-depressant. If we think about it, this makes perfect sense. Vitamin D from the sun has been shown to boost our mood. Studies have also shown that outdoor physical activity can lower blood pressure and reduce stress. As a result of this, exercise outdoors can feel less strenuous which can make you work even harder.
